On the production end, Kuurion and I refer to this place as the Void Room, and it’s been a useful space for me to learn basic stage blocking. Something I never knew I’d need was the ability to know where the characters in a room are, relative to each other, across a string of different shots. I would write a script with a series of actions,. and then Kuurion would draw the layout and show me how I was unintentionally asking for something impossible. The Void Room, with its very basic props, ended up being the place where I’d get the most stuff wrong (especially in that group scene earlier). I think I’m getting better, which is good, because I think this is the last time the Void Room appears.
