Yay hugs

This little talk will clear up a lot of questions these two have about each other and questions they would have if they understood each other better. Obviously, their friendship will be stronger. One must wonder how it changes their responses to each other.

I fully expect Claire to tell her back story, now. Sesame will then understand (more, but not fully) why Claire reacts as she does.

Imagine kibbles’ reaction when these two return

The feel train has arrived at the station. :c

Sesame’s Flashback Theme Song:

Lately I’ve been winning battles left and right
But even winners can get wounded in the fight
People say that I’m amazing
I’m strong beyond my years
But they don’t see inside of me
I’m hiding all these tears

They don’t know that I come running home when I fall down
They don’t know who picks me up when no one is
around
I drop my sword and cry for just a while…
…Look up for his smile…
‘Cause deep inside this armor
the warrior is a child
…Aahhh…

Unafraid because his armor is the best
But even soldiers need a quiet place to rest
People say that I’m amazing
I never face retreat
But they don’t see the enemies
That lay me at his feet

They don’t know that I come running home when I fall down
They don’t know who picks me up when no one is around
I drop my sword and cry for just a while…
…cry for just a while…
‘Cause deep inside this armor
…deep inside this armor…
The warrior is a child

…..

They don’t know that I come running home when I fall down
They don’t know who picks me up when no one is around
I drop my sword and look up for his smile
‘Cause deep inside this armor
…deep inside…
Deep inside this armor…deep inside this armor…
Deep inside this armor…deep inside this armor…
The warrior is a child…

Seriously. These two are so relevant altogether T^T

(proceeds to burn all folders labeled “Sesames mom” with a flamethrower) Live and learn, I guess.
At least Sesame has someone to talk to who can relate. It’s nice to see her opening up. And she’s lucky to have met someone like Claire. Hell, if I didn’t know any better, I’d say Claire was at the right PLACE at the right TIME.

yeeeeeaaah maybe she was??????

so the “her” sesame is looking for is her older sister…..wait, that thing about her finding answ….oh.my.god….was Soya behind the attack? did she kill their father? as the old saying goes, “the plot thickens.” (now, ala Ralph Feinnes) “Why do you suppose they say it like that? Is it a soup metaphor?”

Yes, the fact that Soya was absent, during all of this, or “thought” absent, does leave that as a possibility. After all, who informed Iron Ward that the Uber was in the village to begin with? Knowledge that Soya may have been privy to. Regardless it does have the stink of an inside job.

Oh goodness…I just thought of a motive, what if all that training was so that Soya could properly use the Uber, but then when it came time to try, it rejected her. Frustrated, she left the village….secretly thinking that there was just something their father was keeping from her…”not everyone is cutout to be a hero”…

The feels!! I am so shipping these two.

i am also shipping these two (and Kibbles) as the best of friends. I see it quite like a captain, science officer, and doctor of a legendary sci-fi series (please pardon the slight change of names)

Sesame would be Captain Quirk
Claire would be Mister Spook
Kibbles would be Doctor Coy (though she’s not very coy, herself)

I truly see their friendship being just as strong as that famous trio

So…. good job with the feels. The sixth panel makes me question a couple of things, like where the Uber went, can it turn invisible. Does Sesame lack a sense of touch or have the Amazon archer body modification? It looks like that strap would be an issue without some sort of body armor or modification. I realize it’s too late to do anything about it now, but if the strap was over instead over under the carriage, or perhaps cradled between the orbs in marshmallow hell, the scene wouldn’t look as uncomfortable.

It also makes me wonder what Sesame would look like with an Apple-Bloom styled bow on her tail or in her hair for some reason… Somehow I see wanting to play dress up with characters as a bad sign.

Whoa, this one made me shedding some tears. I know how Sesame feels for loosing a parent in a tragic way, so I would give her a hug.

I think in the sixth panel, she’d put the Uber down to strap on her sword, which is why she’s tying it around her neck like a scarf in the seventh panel.

It’s possible you are correct. I believe my main issue has to do with the strap mostly. it makes wonder if Sesame has any pressure sensitivity, which might explain her seemingly extra ordinary physical strength. Earlier in the comic, the strap has a different weight distribution, is wider, and there is clear evidence of padding. I imagine even if the sword were magically as light a foam or wood, it would be about the same as if she was carrying a messenger bag filled with 75-100lbs of extra weight. And, that’s being generous.

With it’s current positioning the strap appears as if it would be cutting into her and the weight would be mashing her left mammary. Then again I am a man, so I only assume women are more physically sensitive to touch. Still, since I have had the experience of using messenger bags and over the shoulder mounts for textbooks, cameras, and instruments since middle school, and I know they can cut or bruise if worn inappropriately for lack appropriate padding, it just seems odd.

Plus, there is the whole lack of mallow resistance, balloon reshaping, strap twisting, cloth wrinkling, or phat pressure pushing back against the strap, which in and of itself seems like a physical oddity. Especially since she doesn’t look as if she’s wearing a bra.

I agree with you about the strap. But you asked about the Uber, so I voiced my opinion.

And, I have no objection to it… I was letting you know what bothered me and why because I felt I didn’t express it as well as I could have earlier. Next time I’ll try doing a better job of addressing ‘how’ and ‘why’ I agreed with your opinion, if you feel that would make it less irritating or appreciated. I can’t really do anything about it now because the subject has broken trail.

For instance, should we travel back to the subject of the Uber for some incredibly odd reason, I can’t help but admit that I just want to see Sesame with a really big red bow in her tail or on her head just for the absurdity of it. As mentioned before, I suspect wanting to play dress up or pygmalion with anyone’s characters other than your own is a bad sign. Which, of course, is only one of my opinions regarding the Uber.

I’m not a big fan of scarves in general as I am not a singer, bandit, rogue, or pilot. Having spent most of my life in suburban American tropical conditions and high desert my clothing pallet is closer to skater boy urban surfer punk than glam fabulous hipster. Which is still pretty bad since I’m surely more than decade out of step in fashion either way. To be honest, I feel you can probably look at kids fashion to know what was hip ten years ago among males. Television shows are great because you can easily identify and pick out what sorts of clothing is timeless. Then again I’ve lived in Las Vegas and Orlando which were probably about as worldly as Holywood or New York twenty years ago.

Okay. I will not say anything about the feelings of this strip. Simple words can not do it justice.

Sesame’s sister had left BEFORE this raid, so she apparently was not taken prisoner during the raid. One has to wonder if she had anything to do with the raid and to what manner. One also has to wonder what sort of life Sora is now leading.

I have to wonder one other thing, too. Why does Sesame want to find Sora (besides looking for a love one)? What does Sesame expect with this meeting? Of course, it is very possible Sesame hasn’t even thought beyond the instinctive need to find her.

Okay, Claire… your turn.

As much fun as flashbacks are to do – especially as much fun as drawing parents/younger versions of our protagonists we have to stall on that. The readers already know about Claire’s backstory to an extent – even if Sesame doesn’t herself. Sesame at least know Claire is all alone save for one lost person in her life (Proto) which she can relate to (her sister Soya). The purpose of Sesame seeking out her sister are thus.. 1) Delivering the news of their Father/homeland 2) Seeking help with her quest, to defeat the Severance -find out more about the Uber and her powers 3) Comfort, try to rebuild what little of a family she has.

That little bit about Soya does help answer a question I didn’t even know I had, she had quite a different outfit on in the recent ask blog, this explains where it came from, the group of warriors she joined. Well and of course the more obvious question about where she was during this whole mess.

The shipping of Ses x Claire (which is OTP btw) grows :V

This episode had me tearing up a little, I wanted so much to hug & comfort Sesame myself, and crazy as it sounds, actually go back and help all those others that were still alive in her village. Damn, you guys really can write a story and illustrate it so well too.

OAO
Why must you make the pretty kitty girl cry?
*Runs forward to hug Sesame*
*Smacks face-first into the monitor*
TAT

Seriously, though, these last few pages were uber-awesome. Would it be safe to assume this so-called “Iron Ward” are the same rebels mentioned on Page 89 by Prince Drayven and the King?

People and bonds are both forged… very much looking forward to finding out more about the somewhen girl, and the hidden power of Ses. And never forgetting our other players, especially Kibs…

In that last panel I could just hear the random background audience say awwwwww.

I like panel 9. With Claire and Sesame standing side-by-side, it shows how much smaller Sesame is. Either Claire (and Kibbles) is a veritable giant or Sesame is really small

I heard someone say something a while ago about Soya being mad at Sesame for what happened to their mom. Other then that, your theory sounds plausible.
